Chocolate Chip Vanilla Cake | Eggless

I had some left over chocolate chips in my pantry and wanted to use them up. So I was deciding between chocolate chip cookies and Chocolate chip cake. Finally settled upon the cake!
I just used my Basic Vanilla Sponge Cake and added chocolate chips to the recipe with some minor changes.

Here goes the recipe

Ingredients Required:
All purpose Flour - 1 and 1/2 cup (set aside 2 tsp to mix with the chocolate chips)
White Sugar - 1/2 cup  (if you have a sweet tooth you can use more)
Brown Sugar - 1/4 cup
Baking Powder - 1 tsp
Baking Soda - 1 tsp
Oil - 1/2 cup
Milk - 1/4 cup
Curd/Yogurt - 3/4 cup
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Chocolate Chips - 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp (for garnishing)

How to make?
Preheat the oven to 350 .
Take a large mixing bowl and add in the dry ingredients - All Purpose Flour, baking powder, baking soda. Mix well and set aside.
In another bowl add the sugar and oil and mix well. Then add the milk, yogurt, vanilla essence and mix well.
Add the wet and dry mixture together and fold in gently so everything is combined into a batter.
In a small bowl add the chocolate chips and 2 tsp flour and mix well. Add this to the batter and fold in gently. This is done so that the chocolate chips do not settle down at the bottom of the cake.
Spray a cake pan with oil and pour in the batter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes (approx depending on your oven).
To check if its done, insert a toothpick, if it comes out clean then its done.
Cool the cake for 10 minutes and serve :)

Notes:
Brown sugar can be fully replaced with white sugar. Brown sugar gives more density and moisture to the cake.
Oil can be replaced with butter for a higher calorie version.
Chopped nuts can be added in the batter along with the chocolate chips.
Pour the same batter into cupcake tray for cupcakes.
