Dates Walnut Cake | Eggless

Makes 1 8" square pan
Ingredients Required:
Pitted dates - 22, roughly chopped
Cloves - 2
All purpose flour - 1 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Cinnamon - 1 tsp
Baking soda - 1 tsp
Baking Powder - 1 tsp
Oil - 1/4 cup
Milk - 3/4 cup
Walnuts as needed

How to bake?
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon powder and set aside.
Heat 1/2 cup of milk and add the chopped dates.
Once the milk comes to a boil, switch of the flame and set aside. Allow the dates to soften. Once the mixture has cooled down, add the cloves and grind to a smooth paste.
In another bowl, add the sugar and oil. Mix well so the sugar dissolves.
Add the remaining milk and the dates mixture. Mix well.
Add this to the flour mixture and mix the batter well with a whisk, so that no lumps are there.
Finally, gently fold in the chopped walnuts.
Grease a baking pan with oil and pour the batter into the pan.
Bake in the pre heated oven for 45 minutes. Insert a tooth pick in the center and check if it comes out clean to make sure that the cake is baked.
Remove from the oven and place on a cooling tray.
Serve warm!

Notes:
The sugar was just correct, increase if you have a sweet tooth.
Any other type of nuts and raisins can also be added.
1/4 cup yogurt and 1/2 cup milk can be used instead of 3/4 cup milk for a moister cake.
