Sevai is a quick fix snack/lunch box food and can be prepared in a jiffy. I always have a packet of rice sevai stored in my kitchen which would come in handy for the rainy day.
Serves 2
Ingredients Required:
Ready made Rice Sevai -
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad Dhal - 1 tsp
Channa Dhal - 1 tsp
Red Chilli - 2
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Oil
Lemon Juice - 1 tblsp
Salt to taste
How to make?
Boil 5 cups of water and pour it on top of the rice sevai, close the vessel and set aside for 2 minutes.
Check if the sevai has salt in the packing, if not add to the water while boiling.
Drain the extra water and set the sevai aside.
In a pan, add little oil, mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
Add the urad dhal, channa dhal, red chilli and fry till golden in color.
Add this seasoning along with the turmeric powder to the sevai and mix well.
Add the lemon juice, give one last mix and serve.
Tip:
Fried cashews and peanuts can also added to the sevai to enhance the flavor.
