Pico De Gallo Salsa | Fresh Mexican Salsa | Vegan | Gluten Free

I am a big fan of Mexican dishes and especially love their fresh salsa with tortillas. I also use the salsa when making burritos at home, but have been using the store bought salsa. This is my first attempt at making home made salsa, and I can surely say it is way better than the bottled ones! Mainly because it is made with fresh vegetables and we can control the recipe.
There are many types of salsa some are made with roasted vegetables, but the Pico De Gallo means Fresh Salsa, and the basic salsa is made from chopped tomatoes, onions and peppers. But we can enhance the recipe with our own favorites.
The salsa needs to marinate so the flavors of all the vegetables blend in and come out. So it is better to make the salsa one day prior to use and refrigerate it.

Serves 4
Ingredients Required:
Tomato - 2, finely chopped
Onion (Medium Size) - 1, finely chopped
Jalapeno - 1 , finely chopped
Sereno Peppers - 2, finely chopped
Yellow Bell Pepper - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
Orange Bell Pepper - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
Red Bell Pepper - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
Cilantro - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
Lime Juice - from 1 Lime
Vinegar - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Pepper - to taste
Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
Paprika Powder - 1/2 tsp

How to make?
Take a large mixing bowl, and add in all the above ingredients and give a good mix. Slightly mash them with a back of the spoon so the juice comes out.
Marinate in a closed container for a day in the fridge and its ready for use the next day.
Serve with some tortilla or burrito. It goes well with any Mexican dish.

Serve with some Tortilla chips for an appetizer.

Notes:
The more finely the vegetables are cut, the better the flavors.
Make sure the tomatoes are juicy as this is the main ingredient.
You can cut down on the chilli and paprika if you want a milder version.
Add a pinch of sugar for a sweet touch.
The addition of bell peppers are totally optional and can also be skipped.
Yo can add in any other freshly chopped vegetables/fruits like - Mango, Pineapple, Tomatillo, Cucumber etc as per your taste.
