Rava Idly is a variation to the popular South Indian dish Idly which are usually made with rice and dhal, rava idly as the name specifies are made with rava.
Makes 12 Idlies
Ingredients Required:
Rava - 1 Cup
Chana Dhal - 1 tbl.sp
Ginger paste - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Green Chillies - 3, chopped
Curry leaves - 1 twig
Cut vegetables - 1 Cup ( Carrot, peas, beans, sweet corn )
Coriander leaves - Chopped
Salt as required
Eno Salt - 1 tsp
Curd - 1 Cup
Water - 1/4 Cup
How to make?
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, chana dhal, ginger paste, green chillies and fry for few minutes till the mustard seeds splutter.
Add the rava and fry for 3 - 4 minutes on low heat, till the rava turn light golden in color.
Take off from the stove and cool down.
Add curd, cut vegetables, salt, water and mix well.
Keep aside for 30 minutes.
Grease the idly plates with oil.
Add Eno salt to the idly batter and stir.
Pour 1 ladle batter to the idly plates and steam cook for 15 minutes on high heat.
Serve hot with peanut chutney.
