If this is you first exposure to OPOS, then please read on.
OPOS is One Pot One Shot. It is a scientific cooking technique found by Mr.Ramakrishnan with simple steps, fast and proven to be healthy. With this method you can spend minimum time cooking and yet deliver a tasty and healthy meal for the family. It also uses minimum vessels in other words, you basically need a 2 liter stainless steel pressure cooker to cook about anything to everything.
From Mr.Ramakrishnan:
The OPOS Promise:
Opos is the cleanest, greenest, fastest , healthiest. tastiest. easiest way to cook
OPOS works for anyone, anywhere, anytime.
The OPOS promise is kept as long as you use standard equipment and follow standardized recipes.
There is a FB page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/OPOSSupportGroup/
I was introduced to OPOS couple of months back when my friend Kamakshi hosted an OPOS party at her place, where she gave all of an introduction on OPOS and we ended up cooking around 10 dishes in an hour!
The main concept of OPOS is:
High Pressure Less cooking Time
Layered Baking (Layering Technique)
Minimum Water - the vegetables get cooked in their own juices
Less Salt
Vegetables retain their natural color and nutrient values
From then I have started experimenting and exploring recipes using this method. I have listed all the recipes that I have tried and tasted HERE.
OPOS calls for standard OPOS pressure cooker that you can buy https://oposkit.com/.
I do not have the OPOS kit (yet). I use my regular 3 liter stainless steel pressure cooker which has a heavy bottom for all the recipes. It has come out fine so far!
Before experimenting the recipes please make sure you have completed the below lessons.
Will take just couple of minutes!
Lesson 1: Standardization
