Maladu | Maa Ladoo | Roasted Gram Flour Ladoo

Simple healthy ladoos made with roasted gram flour or as we call pottukadalai. These are healthy and high in protein and makes wonderful breakfast as well. I usually make some Ladoo after making ghee in the same pan.


Ingredients Required:

Roasted gram dhal - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Cardamon - pinch

How to make?
  • Grind the roasted gram dhal to a fine powder. Set aside
  • Grind the sugar and cardamon to a fine powder to a fine powder. Set aside
  • Take a pan, and heat on medium heat. Add the roasted gram flour and saute for a minute
  • Switch of the flame and add the sugar cardamon powder. Mix well
  • Slowly start adding warm ghee and crumble between your fingertips
  • Start making ladoos, by taking some mixture and gently pressing between your palms and rolling them to a smooth ball
  • Store them in a air tight container
Notes:
  • You do not have to saute the flour for a long time just a minute should be good
  • Add warm ghee as it helps in binding the mixture
  • If you are not able to bring the mixture to form ladoos, add a little more ghee
  • The sweetness was just perfect, if you have a sweet tooth, add more sugar
