Chocolate Ganache

Ganache - though complicated it may sound is one of the easiest fancy dish that you can make. There are various proportion to the ingredients based on what the ganache would be used for.
Ganache can be used from dips, cake drips, truffles, filling for lava cakes and cookies, whipped frosting or just a simple glaze.
I have used the ganache for glazing cupcakes and hence is a little thicker.
If using it for dips or cake drips go with 1:1 proportion.

Ingredients Required:
Heavy Cream - 1/4 cup
Dark chocolate chips - 1/2 cup
Butter - 1 tblsp

How to make?
Combine both the cream and chocolate in a bowl and using double boiler technique melt them on medium heat.
Keep mixing the mixture with a spoon and within a couple of minutes you would have a smooth sauce.
Allow to cool till it reaches room temperature before starting to glaze the cakes.

Notes:
The above was sufficient to glaze 12 cupcakes generously.
If you would like a thinner version use equal quantity of cream and chocolate.
Make sure to use good quality chocolate. You can also use rough chopped baking chocolate. If you use milk chocolate it would be sweeter.
Butter is optional but gives a more shiny glaze
