Sundal is made everyday during the Navarathri festival. It is basically boiled legumes and seasoned with spices. The below recipe is a spice mix that can be used for seasoning any sundal.
Ingredients Required:
Coriander Seeds - 1.5 cups
Channa dhal - 1 cup
Kashmiri red chilli - 10-12
Curry leaves - 1 handful
Dry coconut - 1/2 cup
Salt as required
Hing - 1 tsp
How to make:
Dry roast each ingredient separately till you get a nice aroma. Let it cool for 30 minutes.
Grind together into a coarse powder.
Store in airtight container.
Notes:
If you are using fresh Coconut, fry in low flame till the moisture is gone. Else the shelf life will reduce and you will not get a coarse powder.
