Coconut Burfi


Simple yet delicious sweet made with basic ingredients coconut and sugar.

Ingredients Required:
Grated coconut - 2 cups 
Sugar - 1 cup
Water 1/4 cup
Cardamon - pinch
Ghee - 2 tsp

How to make:
Grease a pan or a plate with ghee and set aside.
In a heavy bottom pan, add the water and sugar.
Boil till the mixture reaches one string.
Add in the coconut and keep stirring till the mixture leaves the sides. It took around 10 minutes for me.
Add ghee and give a final mix.
Pour into the greased plate.
After 5 minutes, run a knife through to make slices.
Remove the slices when cooled to room temperature.

Notes:
Use only the white part of the coconut. If you use the brown part the color of the burfi will change.
One string consistency is when you touch the sugar syrup between your two fingers and separate the fingers one string will be formed. The syrup would be very hot be careful.
Make sure that the mixture leaves the sides of the pan before pouring on the plate else will not set.
