Butter Biscuits - Indian Bakery Style

I am sure all of us would have had this biscuit in our childhood. These are similar to the ones that we get in the iyengar bakery or also tea shops. They taste great when dipped in tea. They are made with basic ingredients and no baking soda or powder.
You can enhance them by adding extra flavor like cardamon.

Makes 28-30
Ingredients Required:
All purpose flour - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Salt - 1 tsp
Butter - 1/2 cup
Milk - 2 tblsp if needed

How to make:
Cream the butter and sugar till light and creamy.
Add the flour and salt. Bring the mix together into a dough and if too dry add some milk.
Do not knead.
Roll into a log of 2 inch diameter, wrap in cling fling and refrigerate for 1 hour minimum.
Remove from the refrigerator and slice into 1/2 inch thickness.
Bake at 350 F for 15 minutes till slightly brown.
Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes.

Notes:
The sweetness was just correct. Increase the sugar if you would like.
Instead of rolling like a log and slicing you can roll them out and use a cookie cutter to cut out desired shapes.
You can refrigerate the dough for upto a week or freeze the dough for a couple of months.
