Beans Paruppu Usilli

Beans Paruppu Usilli is a South Indian delicacy where the beans is cooked with a mix of cooked dhal a and seasoned. This is usually served with vatha Kuzhambu or more Kuzhambu as they are not made with dhal and the dhal from Paruppu usili would be the base of protein. Traditionally made with beans but can be made with vegetables of your choice.

Ingredients Required:
Green beans - 2 cups, finely chopped
Coconut oil - 1 tblsp
Channa dhal - 3 tblsp, soaked for 30 minutes
Toor dhal - 1 tblsp, soaked for 30 minutes
Red chilli - 3
Salt - to taste

How to make:
In a pan, add the oil and when hot add the mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
Add the beans and sprinkle some water and salt. 
Close the pan and allow the beans to cook.
Grind the soaked dhals, salt and red chilli without water to a coarse paste.
Make small patties and steam for 10 minutes.
Cool and again pulse them in the blender so they are fluffy and light.
Mix this with the cooked beans and give a toss on heat.
Serve with rice and Kuzhambu of your choice.
