We made this super simple dessert for Father's Day. Actually my son made it and I just helped him, yes it is that simple and the kids can have a fun time with chocolate dipping.
Happy Father's Day to all wonderful dads!
Makes 12
Ingredients Required:
Semisweet chocolate chips - 3/4 cup
Dates - 12
Almonds - 12
Coconut Oil - 1 tblsp
How to make?
- Make a slit in the dates and remove the seed
- Insert the almonds in place of the seed and cover up the slit as much as you can
- Insert tooth picks over the slit so it does not open up
- Melt chocolate and coconut oil either in a microwave (heat for a minute) or over stove top. If doing on stove top, use the double boiler technique. Heat water in a vessel and place the chocolate in an inner vessel in the boiling water. Constant stirring will melt the chocolate.
- Dip the dates in the melted chocolate and place them on a parchment paper to dry and harden.
- Let it sit for 30 minutes and then serve.
